The B2A Readiness Index is a framework for scoring how ready a business is for the agent economy. The question it answers: if an AI agent tried to discover, understand, evaluate and buy from you today, how far would it get? This page describes the methodology; an interactive URL assessment will follow.
The interactive assessment is in development. Below is the methodology it will use.
The ten dimensions
Can agents and AI search find you? Crawler access, structured data, llms.txt, sitemap.
Is key content in server-rendered HTML, or hidden behind JavaScript?
Schema.org Product/Offer, identifiers, descriptions, completeness and accuracy.
Programmatic catalogue, cart, checkout and order status; MCP/API availability.
Can an agent complete a purchase (ACP or platform checkout)?
Support for agent identity, consent and spending scope.
Clear, current, machine-readable prices and validity.
Returns, shipping and terms exposed as structured fields.
Machine-readable order status, returns and support.
Ability to track agent-driven discovery and revenue as a channel.
How scoring will work
Each dimension is scored on evidence a machine can check, weighted toward the factors that most determine whether an agent can complete a task. A URL assessment reads the page's HTML, structured data, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap, and reports a score with specific fixes, each linking into the relevant part of agent-ready. Dimensions that require private systems (payments, identity) are assessed heuristically or by self-report.
Where this is heading
Over time, the index can benchmark major businesses and produce a comparable dataset, the basis for an annual State of B2A report. Analysis
